Kuala Lumpur: The sixth edition of the Etiqa Selangor International Junior Masters will be postponed to a later date, it was announced by Kelab Golf Seri Selangor on Monday.

The 54-hole event, which was scheduled to take place from June 10-12, will move to an August or September date in line with the eighth hosting of the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters.

Kelab Golf Seri Selangor general manager Hairul Zaini expressed his confidence that the highly popular junior event, sponsored by leading insurer Etiqa Insurance & Takaful, will take place once the renovation exercise at the state-owned public course in Damansara Indah is completed.

“We would like to inform junior golfers that the Seri Selangor Golf Club is currently undergoing some upgrading work in preparation for the 2014 Selangor Masters to be held in September.

“As such, the Etiqa Selangor International Junior Masters which is supposed to be held in June 2014 will be rescheduled to a later date. We will announce the new dates for the event once we have confirmed it with our esteemed sponsor,” added Hairul in a statement.
