Bangi [SELANGOR]: The junior golf movement in Malaysia received a fresh momentum on Saturday with the launch of MYFutures Junior Tour at Danau Golf Club.

The country’s first independent junior golf tour is promoted by MYFutures Initiative Sdn Bhd and sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association with the intent of developing junior golf in Malaysia, by creating a structured long-term strategy to raise the standard of Malaysian youth golfers.

“The core mission of the MYFutures Junior Tour is to build future champions of Malaysian golf. Our objectives are to attract as many young golfers to participate and compete in our events and therefore, increase and enhance the pool of talents and raise standard of junior golfers to be at par of better than their peers from regional countries such as Thailand, Korea and others,” said MYFutures Junior Tour board chairman Ahmad Fauzi Ghazali.

The MYFJT will provide players with an opportunity to learn how to become an accomplished tournament player in a relaxed atmosphere while learning the Rules of Golf and how to conduct themselves on the golf course. It will also provide an avenue for competition and enable players to engage and develop their skills further.
