Bangkok, Thailand: After making a successful venture at the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, Malaysia last year, Thai Beverage PLC, the manufacturer of Chang Beverage, have confirmed their continued sponsorship of the event this year.

Chang Beverage will return as the Official Beverage Sponsor for the second edition of the event as part of  a five-year commitment inked last year. The PGA Tour and Asian Tour co-sanctioned tournament will once again take place at The Mines Resort & Golf Club from October 27-30.

The announcement was made during a special press conference for Malaysian and Thai sports journalists held at the Royal Gems Golf & Sports Club in Bangkok on June 27.

Vice chairman of International Beverage Holdings Limited – the authorised reseller of Chang Beverage in Malaysia and Singapore – Dato’ Jorgen Bornhoft (pic) expressed his confidence in the continued success of the partnership.

“It’s certainly a great honour for Chang to once again be part of  the first PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament in Southeast Asia. The return of the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic to Malaysia allows us to echo the five year commitment we had announced last year,” he said.

Bornhoft also noted that the sponsorship of such a world class golf event wa s in line with the development of the Chang brand, which focuses on internationalization and worldwide export.

“We certainly reaped great benefits from being part of the inaugural event held last year. One that came across most apparent is our visibility in the development of golf events in Asia and more importantly, in Thailand. This has created a great leverage for us in driving our community programmes,” he added.
