Petaling Jaya: David Lipsky of the United States will lead a superb line-up of rising stars at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters next month. ipsky is enjoying a memorable debut season on the Asian Tour where he won the Qualifying School in Thailand in January and subsequently clinched the HANDA FALDO Cambodian Classic in March.

Currently fourth on the Order of Merit, Lipsky is tipped to be one of the top contenders at the RM1.2 million (approximately US$395,000) Asian Tour event at the scenic Kota Permai Golf and Country Club from September 5-8.

He will be joined by other talented hopefuls including Himmat Rai of India, Arnond Vongvanij of Thailand and popular Bangladeshi Siddikur at the event which will enjoy live television broadcasts to a global audience in the last two rounds.

The highly rated Lipsky, who finished tied second and third at the ISPS Handa Singapore Classic and Maybank Malaysian Open respectively, is in upbeat mood and plans to carry his fine form into the business-end of the Asian Tour’s 2012 season.

“Being on the Asian Tour exceeds my expectations. I’m happy with where I’m at right now. Hopefully I can continue my form and see where it leads me,” said the 24-year-old.

Indian prospect Rai, who secured a maiden Asian Tour victory last season, enjoyed a tied fourth result at the Queen’s Cup in Thailand in June but admits he has to work harder towards his goal of adding a second title to his career.

“I’ve been going over certain details in my game with my coach and just trying to figure out how to improve and working on some extra shots here and there. I will continue to focus on what I need to work on and keep my mind on the scale,” said Rai.

Among the others who will feature prominently in the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Mastersinclude talented Indian Gaganjeet Bhullar, a two-time Asian Tour winner, and veteran Mardan Mamat of Singapore, who won the ICTSI Philippine Open earlier this year.
