Airil moves to the top

Pengkalan Chepa: Airil Rizman Zahari snatched a slim advantage at the halfway stage of the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Kelantan Classic on Tuesday.

The multiple winner on the burgeoning domestic circuit added a four-under 68 to his opening 70 to lead four others by a single stroke at Kelantan Golf & Country Club, with the leaderboard remaining tightly poised at the RM150,000 event.

S. Sivachandran (68), Lam Yu Shuen (68), Shaaban Hussin (69) and overnight leader S. Murthy, who only managed a level-par 72, were bunched on five-under 139, ahead of 2011 champion Kemarol Baharin (68), who was a further shot back.

Kenneth Tobuse (70) and Haziq Hamizan (73), who was second after the first round, were joint seventh on 141.
