Singapore: The inaugural Causeway Trophy received a significant boost on Wednesday after it was announced that leading insurance brand Prudential Assurance Company Singapore Pte. Ltd will title sponsor the historic tournament.
Set to take place at the demanding World Classic course of Laguna National Golf & Country Club from June 7 to 9, the Prudential Causeway Trophy will follow a compelling team format similar to the Ryder Cup, pitting the best of Singapore and Malaysia’s golfing elite over three days of intense competition.
“Being the title sponsor of the Prudential Causeway Trophy is our way of demonstrating our commitment to support local sportsmen, and to encourage the growth of a sports culture among Singaporeans,” said Prudential Singapore CEO Tomas Urbanec.
“Prudential is delighted to become the title sponsor of this exciting new sporting event for Singapore and Malaysia and we look forward to the friendly rivalry being played out on the green.”
Event promoter Parallel Media Group welcomed the announcement, stating that it was a great step forward for the tournament which is making its debut this year.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with such a prestigious brand as Prudential, and are looking forward to working with their team to develop the Prudential Causeway Trophy into one of the region’s most eagerly anticipated and passionately supported sporting competitions,” Parallel Media Group chairman David Ciclitira.

The Prudential Causeway Trophy will also receive the support of Audi (Official Car), Blackberry (Official Mobile Device), Royal Selangor (Official Trophy), Golf Digest Singapore (Official Media Partner) and The ClubHouse (Media Partner – Malaysia).
