Kuala Lumpur: Past champion Louis Oosthuizen will return for another crack at the Maybank Malaysian Open this April, tournament promoters announced on Thursday.
The 31-year-old South African will be keen to rekindle memories of his 2012 win at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, when he posted four sub-70 rounds for a stirring three-stroke victory over Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher.
Coming off an injury-plagued season, Oosthuizen has displayed some early season form, successfully defending the prestigious Volvo Golf Champions last month on home soil – keeping alive his record of winning at least one European Tour victory per season since 2010.
The 2010 Open champion joins former world number one Lee Westwood of England in the star-studded line-up for the US$2.75 million European and Asian Tours co-sanctioned tournament.
