Rawang [SELANGOR]: It proved a rewarding experience for the 113 golfers of varying abilities who turned up for the inaugural The ClubHouse Golf Day on Thursday.
The unseasonably clement weather together with the pristine playing conditions at the award-winning Templer Park Country Club provided the perfect setting for a delightful round of golf, camaraderie and good-natured fun.
Templer Park’s lush fairways and lightning quick greens also attracted a bevy of leading recreational golfers from across the country, who battled out it for the top honours in the gross competition.

Armed with home course advantage, seasoned amateur S. Sasi Kumar seemed to have the edge over the rest of the field as the scratch-handicapper fired a brilliant two-under 70 to emerge triumphant, pocketing the top prize of shopping vouchers worth RM1,500.
National lady amateur Genevieve Ling I-Rynn raised the cheers for the fairer sex with a solid even-par 72 effort to finish second, three shots clear of two-handicapper Tan Chee Kean of Royal Perak Golf Club.
The nett division saw Megat Razak top the leaderboard after the 11-handicapper returned with a score of 70, one stroke clear of Arif Zaid (7) and Danial (11), who settled for second and third positions respectively on countback.
Regardless of their scores, all participants walked home with an attractive prize thanks to a generous “sure-to-win” raffle draw with Dato’ Ir Nasir Ibrahim netting the biggest prize on offer – a 50″ Toshiba flatscreen television.
All proceeds from this maiden tournament will be channelled to MYFutures Initiative, a commercially-driven social enterprise focusing on junior golf in Malaysia.
The ClubHouse will like to record its appreciation to our loyal supporters and industry compatriots from across the country who made the journey to Templer Park Country Club for our inaugural Golf Day.
