Kuala Terengganu: Shahril Jusoh was the sole player to break par in the first round of  the Terengganu Amateur Open which teed-off yesterday at the Kuala Terengganu Golf Resort.

Shahril opened his campaign with a round of one-under-par 71 to lead by one from the trio of Malaysian Junior Open champion Mohd Azry Asyraf Noor Azam, national player Mohd Afif Mohd Razif and Ahmad Zahir Abdul Ghani (2). Scratch handicapper Nur Durriyah Damian, Ong Jay Mand (7) and Affendy Mohamad (10) were a further three strokes back on 75.

In the nett category, Wan Pahkrizan Wan Abdul Kadi and Mohd Yusree Mustafa lead with rounds of 69 nett.

A total of  81 players are participating in the ninth edition of the event organised by the Persatuan Golf Terengganu.
