Kuching: In-form Jakraphan Premsirigorn of Thailand fired a second round five-under-par 67 to share the clubhouse lead with American Dodge Kemmer at the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) MNRB Sarawak Masters which was suspended due to fading light on Friday.

A total of 33 players including overnight leader R. Nachimuthu of Malaysia and compatriot Nicholas Fung, will return at 7am on Saturday morning to complete their second round with the third round scheduled to start not before 10am.

Jakraphan and Kemmer, who carded a 68, totalled matching eight-under-par 136s while local prospect M. Sasidaran shot up the leaderboard with a 67 to trail by two at the RM200,000 (approximately US$65,000) Asian Development Tour (ADT) event.

Filipino Carl Santos-Ocampo and Australian Adam Blyth are three shots back from the leaders after posting rounds of 70 and 67 respectively at the Sarawak Golf Club.

Jakraphan, who has notched three top-10 finishes on the ADT this season, fought his way into contention with six birdies against one bogey.

“I took my time and played shot by shot today. I didn’t really focus on my scores. I just concentrated on my game. I’m happy to be in a good position going into the weekend rounds,” said the 21-year-old, who is ranked 14th on the ADT Order of Merit.

Kemmer, who came through the Asian Tour Qualifying School in January, remained on course for a maiden ADT victory. “I managed to avoid big mistakes. I made a few putts which was pretty good. I’ll keep to my own pace and hopefully save more putts in the weekend rounds,” said the 26-year-old.
